The world went through a historic change on the advent of
internet. What was supposed to be thought as just a fad really shook the cores

a slaughter for many. For example, sometime back I happen to chance upon a
certain article on self-declared top entertainment retailer, HMV.
So, let’s consider to what happened to them. They were at the
summit of their game when the internet was slowly starting to change the
consumer’s taste in buying music from the store. Of course, they now had access
to music without having to go to the stores. The consumer behaviour had shifted
towards the favour of digital downloading of songs and movies and content and
online streaming. And what HMV did was the opposite. They stayed on their
traditional course of marketing which was based on the belief that the customer
would always choose the look and feel of a music store over downloadable
content. And even though it was really harsh for Managing Director Steve Knott
because he was one of the many who had so carelessly had brushed aside the need
to digital market that it got too little too late for them in the end. They
could have had so easily used technology to read, analyse consumer data and had
made a sounder plan to execute. They rather based it on the customers buying
expensive CDs and DVDs. And so in the end, there was really nothing that they
could do.
Now, if you really wish to understand what digital
transformation is, you are going to needs hours studying a few books and blogs up.
It is a very broad topic to cover. But I will try to keep it as simple as possible.
Well, according to me digital transformation of any business or enterprise
deals with how you change your business in accordance with ever-evolving
consumer pattern and behaviour directly, through technology. Because, in 2019,
everybody is connected to the internet via their Smartphones and tablets. There
are two factors that massively affect this shift of operations are your
consumers and your company’s internal upgradation. What you really need to do
is understand the customer. Because of knowing your customer was always the

But businesses can’t just one day embark upon digital

in accordance with the cloud data that you can achieve once you reinvent your

that are everlastingly being saved for you to see and keep.
And then there is the advantage of culminating or acquisition of
enhanced customers and its retention through marketing strategies and efforts
that will be based on modern approaches. It will provide you with access to a larger
online market where you couldn’t reach in the past. You get a greater global
reach & even your workspace has shifted across this global platform. I am
not saying that it is going to be easy. Inefficient marketing and poor consumer
rights and really undo your game here. Since you are on this platform that exposes
you to so many, you are also at the risk to lose it all if you’re not being
careful. What can cost you all this also can be your slower or more regressed mode
of operations? Imagine, you have a customer that wants a red-orange that smells
like ripe papaya. Now, if you lack the proper machinery to provide your
consumer that, because the papaya quotient was never even incorporated into
your systems, it is perpetually going to risk a serious infarction between the
customer and you.
All that being said, the last thing to consider is what digital
transformation could do for you is providing you foresight and hindsight. It
will help you to improve all your managerial marketing decisions. They help you
gather tools that can really improve your business’s game. And also being able
to predict the hottest sales leads is a win-win. And it is also essential that
progressive businesses should ensure proper security strategy consistently
across all their network.
